About this deal

If your goals aren't synced with the substance of your heart, then achieving them won't matter much." - Danielle LaPorte Spoiler- I have not yet finished this book, but wanted to put my thoughts out there to hopefully inspire and help another reader/writer to explore this book. Whether you are going through a difficult time or simply looking for inspiration, Healing Through Words is a book that will touch your heart and leave a lasting impression. Poetry] is long conversations by the ocean. Our lives are poetry. And the final act is writing it down.” a journey of self-exploration through guided writing exercises designed by a #1 new york times best selling author, Rupi Kaur

The book has received widespread praise for its honest and vulnerable portrayal of the human experience. It has touched the lives of millions of readers around the world and has become a beacon of hope for those who are struggling with pain and trauma. Even though I didn't have the opportunity of hugging her, i have her writing and her love throught her signature. The book is peppered with examples of her past work, and perhaps my one complaint about this book is that I had hoped to read some new work. All the same, it was a joy to revisit some of my favourites and her greatest hits. I'm touched by the idea that when we do things that are useful and helpful - collecting these shards of spirituality - that we may be helping to bring about a healing." - Leonard Nimoy Feelings are much like waves, we can't stop them from coming but we can choose which ones to surf." - Jonatan MartenssonAfter seeing in person her touching performance in Sao Paulo, i bought the book and, in a way i still cant believe it, i had it signed by Rupi. Where do I begin, this book takes Rupi Kaur’s passion to another level and it gives you a chance to write your own experiences and feelings. She did this in such a clever way that in doing these writing exercises you channel healing. 💕 By far the strongest poison to the human spirit is the inability to forgive oneself or another person. Forgiveness is no longer an option but a necessity for healing." - Caroline Myss Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn't you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are." - Rachel Naomi Remen About the book itself, for me, it felt so much like the lives she had done during the pandemic. Her soft words and sensible exercises, made me write when i felt that i was only falling.

It may not be suitable for younger or sensitive readers who may find some of the topics or language too mature or triggering. In it, Rupi guides us gently through exercises that feel designed to be part self-help and part writer’s retreat. What I loved was how encouraging she was throughout. She really does make you feel like you, too, can be a poet. No small feat for those of us that are intimidated by writing anything personal let alone poetry. She affirms over and over that we all can be writers and gives us the tools to get there. I won’t lie to you; there are parts of this book that will be triggering for those with past traumas. Rupi asks us to confront the darkness in our pasts with bravery while at the same time making us feel like it’s okay and safe to do so. The overall effect is that she’s standing behind you, ready to give you a high five or a hug or perhaps just a cheeky wink from the corner of the room. It may not appeal to readers who are looking for more structured and formal guidance on poetry writing techniques and forms. You don't need to be a writer to take this walk; you just need to write — that's all.
